Howl there! I’m Jessie, and I started Chasing Tails Pet Sitting because I believe dogs are happiest and most comfortable in their own homes—not in kennels. Too many pet parents struggle to find care for anxious, reactive, or fearful pets who don’t do well in stressful kennel environments. That’s exactly why we’re here!
I have over 20 years of combined personal and professional animal care experience and I’m a member of Pet Sitters International®. I’ve worked extensively with dogs who have separation anxiety, fear-based behaviors, and reactivity. I also have experience caring for cats, birds, bunnies, guinea pigs, chickens, and pot belly pigs.
Kennels can be overwhelming—strange dogs barking, unfamiliar smells, new people, and a completely different environment. For anxious pets especially, this stress can make their anxiety worse. In-home pet sitting lets your pet stay in their safe space with their familiar routine, toys, and smells while receiving one-on-one attention from someone who understands their needs.

From the moment he was adopted by Jessie at just 8 weeks old in Virginia, Hendrix has brought boundless joy and endless entertainment to his family. With his striking appearance and playful personality, he has quickly become the heart and soul of the household. Hendrix spends his days chasing after frisbees, engaging in spirited games of tug of war, and cooling off in the refreshing waters in grandma's creek.
As the Paw-sident of Chasing Tails Pet Sitting, Hendrix ensures the love and attention he receives is passed on to the entire pack! In his herding world, no pet is left behind. Hendrix understands what it’s like to need extra patience and love. He’s living proof that with the right care, anxious dogs can thrive!

If you need quality pet sitting and/or dog walking services and just can’t seem to find someone, but you are not within the Chasing Tails Pet Sitting service area, we will be happy to personally review your request!
If we cannot make the request possible, we will refer you to a reputable pet care company within your area that can accommodate your needs. We are dedicated to providing loving care to all pets, and will do everything we can to make sure you get the help you need!
